Petr Vegh, Ph.D., P.Eng., LEED AP
Senior Project Principal, Vice President of Engineering
Petr is a Senior Project Principal and a member of the Executive Committee as the Vice President of Engineering. He is also the Structural Practice Lead.
Petr received his Engineering degrees from the Czech Technical University in Prague and became a practicing Engineer in 1982. In 1990 he moved to Canada, where he conducted research for five years at the University of Toronto before transitioning into the engineering consulting industry.
Petr specializes in façade and building rehabilitation and design, specialty structural testing, structural design, structural investigation and assessment, review of historical structures, product development and research. He also acts as an expert witness and provides forensic engineering and litigation support on selected projects.
Petr is the Chair of the CSA Technical Committee of the A500 “Building Guards” Standard and a member of the Technical Committee for the S 478 “Standard on Durability in Buildings”. He also sits on the Advisory Board of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) and is the past Chair and co-founder of the IASS Working Group on Environmentally Compatible Structures. He is active as a reviewer on the Editorial Committee for the International Journal of the IASS and is himself the author or co-author of over thirty-five technical publications including two books.
